Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents, who were a dentist as well as a teacher at school were supportive and encouraged by her early love for drama and theater. The initial goal of her to become a master monkey was surpassed by her desire to study theater and drama. It was a quick rise for her to become an internationally renowned young actor. In 1998 after her studies, she took part in an French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer when she was a child and was educated Catholic. However she has since gotten away from her Catholic upbringing. In addition to acting, she pursued modelling and was the model in the advertising campaign for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. An avid photographer, she has recently exhibited at the Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. In her photographs, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. The camera's focus is at journalists, who sat and watched her as she rose to stardom in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as a lead character in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie received international acclai the box office and was recognized at award ceremonies across the globe. The film is still the top grossing French film on the market in US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in a wide range of film productions ranging from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles, and then he moved into Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
