Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci aged six. She competed at the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She won in 1970. In 1972, in an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she was awarded 3 gold and silver medals. In 1973 and 1974, she became the all-around junior champ. In 1975 she was awarded 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. In 1976 she became the first female athlete in the world to use a backwards-double salto in order to take off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey of Carol Wayne in the world of entertainment started when she was a teenager. Along with her sister Nina Wayne, she joined the traveling entertainment show known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's career began in entertainment in her teens. Her first job was as a model skater with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
